Rough OBA openers for local teams

   Host Dorchester Diamondbacks and Aylmer Pirates are mercied in their opening

   first games to the Ontario Baseball Association major mosquito tournament

DORCHESTER -  Both the Dorchester Diamondbacks and the Aylmer Pirates had rough starts to the Ontario Baseball Assocation major mosquito C double knockout tournament.

The host team was blanked 16-0 by the Listowel Legionnaires, while Aylmer dropped a 12-2 opener to the Saugeen River Cats.

The Ingersoll Ironbirds, Beamsville Stingers, Mitchell Astros and Uxbridge Grizzlies, all won their first games.

The three day 12-team tournament (click on logo for schedule) continues until Sunday.
